Try Applied Philosophy!
Details
In today’s fast-paced world, filled with stimulation and countless pleasures, we can feel scattered, disconnected and unsure of what truly matters. Success, comforts and conveniences can bring moments of happiness , yet a lasting calm and fulfillment often feel just out of reach. And when life’s challenges arise—whether expected or sudden—they can leave us stressed and off balance.
At such times, a quiet inner voice may ask:
- Is there a path to lasting happiness?
- Do things happen for a reason? What is my purpose?
- How can I navigate life's inevitable challenges with inner strength, joy and serenity?
- Can I become better? Is there a path to awaken the best within?
- How can I improve and deepen my relationships and contribute to a better world?
If you are looking for answers to such questions, we invite you to discover the Practical Philosopher within!
We are all philosophers—curious, questioning, and seeking to understand the mystery of life and how to live in harmony with ourselves and others. At New Acropolis, being a philosopher means exploring timeless wisdom, reflecting, and turning understanding into action and transformation. It means going beyond our limits, discovering our strengths, realizing our true human potential, and expressing the best within. Whatever our circumstances, we can all learn to grow stronger, wiser, more joyful and content—while helping to build a better future for ourselves and those around us.
In this workshop, through a thought-provoking talk and lively group discussions, we will draw on timeless and universal wisdom from Buddhism and Stoicism. Together, we will uncover a few simple, yet profound, teachings to learn how to navigate life's challenges with clarity, resilience and a deeper sense of joy and serenity. Let's discover how we can all step out of the routine of daily life and turn it into an inner adventure of growth and transformation!
No prior experience with philosophy is needed—just bring an open heart and mind and a willingness to interact with other seekers of wisdom
At the close of the workshop, we’ll also introduce our upcoming 12-week Applied Philosophy course—ancient universal wisdom for Modern living! Explore life’s mysteries and how we can live with greater harmony with ourselves, others and time.
Our Fall session, the last one of the year, starts Tuesday, Sept 23 - https://www.know-yourself.ca/course
We look forward to seeing you!
