DJ Bone is a Detroit techno legend whose artistry and activism pulse in perfect harmony. A master of the three-deck setup, Bone crafts electrifying sets that blend raw energy with soulful depth, embodying the spirit of Detroit's underground scene. His label, Subject Detroit and FURTHER serve as a platform for his sonic vision—futuristic, soulful, and unapologetically authentic.

In the early 2000s, Laurent Garnier, a pioneer of techno, was always scouting for fresh sounds, and he found it in DJ Bone—a rising star in Detroit’s underground scene. Bone’s deep, soulful sets and impeccable three-deck mixing caught Garnier’s ear immediately. He wasn’t just following trends; Bone was creating something new, yet deeply rooted in Detroit’s rich techno heritage.

Recognizing Bone’s unique vision, Garnier took him under his wing, pushing him to share his music with the world. This mentorship catapulted Bone into the global spotlight, but it also reinforced his commitment to underground culture—keeping the soul of Detroit techno alive. With Garnier’s support, Bone became an ambassador for the sound, blending innovation with authenticity and ensuring the true spirit of techno would continue to thrive.

Beyond the decks, Bone is a passionate advocate for the homeless. In 2002, he and his wife Ahnne founded Homeless Homies, a nonprofit dedicated to providing immediate relief and long-term support to those experiencing homelessness. What began as a grassroots initiative—distributing food, clothing, and toiletries—has evolved into a global movement. Through fundraising events like the annual Homeless Homies party at Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), Bone has raised significant funds for shelters in Detroit, Amsterdam, and Los Angeles.
