The Talk
Platform engineering is the new buzzword in the DevOps world. In this informal but technical chat, we'll look at what it is, why it's becoming more popular, and how to use basic software engineering principles to evolve digital platforms to high levels of operational readiness.

The speaker
Mark has been writing code for around 20 years. He currently works as a Principal Consultant at Equal Experts helping scale-up companies scale up, and traditional enterprises with their digital transformations. He enjoys functional programming, everything-as-code, funk music and pushing to main.

The venue
Newcastle Uni's I2N Hub Honeysuckle, you can get there by Tram either Civic or Honeysuckle stops, bus (check the timetable) & at 6pm there should be plenty of parking on street on a Wednesday (though ymmv).
