Me, Myself and UI: Applying UI style guides to Power BI Reports
Ever looked at a Power BI report that looks like it was made by 10 different people? Avoid report noise and learn how to build your very own Power BI UI templates by creating standardised visuals, slicers, colour themes and more!
As well as discussing the importance of UI & UX in reporting, we will demonstrate how to quickly and easily create template report pages that will save you precious time and energy when creating new reports, as well as ensuring your reports look professional and standardized across the reporting suite.
SPEAKER:
Matt currently works as a Senior Consultant at Avanade delivering Power Platform projects, with a specific focus on Power BI. Matt has worked in various roles in the Business Intelligence space, starting off in data engineering and in the past few years honing in on Power BI. Matt is passionate about report design, data modelling and storytelling with data.
SESSION 2. Craig Porteous
Why the Lakehouse?
Everyone's talking about data lakehouses but what is a lakehouse other than a nice place to go fishing?
Why do you need to know about the lakehouse architecture, what's the benefits and is it all just hype?
In this session I'll cover what the data lakehouse architecture is, where it fits against existing architectures like a data warehouse, and why you should build one.
We'll also cover the underlying technology options to arm you with all of the information you need to plan your next data platform.
SPEAKER:
Craig is a Principal Consultant at Advancing Analytics and also a Microsoft Data Platform MVP. He has worked with the Data Platform for more than a decade, supporting global BI Environments, automating processes with PowerShell and implementing BI Solutions. Starting off with Excel and Microsoft Access, through every SQL Server edition to Azure, Power BI, Databricks and more.
He is an active speaker in the Data Platform Community, sharing his knowledge and experience at conferences and user groups across Europe.
