SESSION DESCRIPTION:

Fabric (& Power BI) licensing made simple! - Robert French
Power BI (Fabric) is a wonderful product until you start to look at pricing. There is no single place where you can get all the information on pricing for licensing. What is worst is the information is out there if you know where to look.

This session aims to give you an overview of all the options that can be used to license Power BI. More options might seem obvious.

We will explore
1 - How much each option will cost
2 - What do you get for your money
3 - The advantages and disadvantages of each option
4 - Look at what options are best for what situations
5 - Do I get Fabric with that
6 - Consider some alternatives offered by 3rd parties which allow you to share Power BI reports

By the end of the session, you will be aware of each option. How much do they cost, and why are some options better than others? You should have enough information to know which option is best for your organization.

How to land your next job in Power BI - Owen Mitchell
Power BI has exploded in popularity within the industry as of late but is still a relatively new tool to most of us. With so many different organisations looking to make use of Power BI in many different ways, it can be difficult to identify what roles are available and the necessary skills to get ahead. This can hold people back from moving up the ladder as quickly as they potentially could. This session will cover the following topics to begin to make sense of it all:

  • The state of play in the jobs market today
  • The skills profile of a Power BI Professional
  • Tips for identifying your next role
  • Why you should create a portfolio of work
  • The Power of Community
  • Final tips to succeed

Owen is a Senior Talent Acquisition consultant for Avanade, the leading employer of Power BI professionals in the UK. He’s recruited for Power BI roles ever since it’s ‘proper’ release in 2015 and may or may not have spammed you on LinkedIn at some point.
