After a career as a professional magician, Richard Wiseman moved into the academic study of why people think they have psychic powers. He has published over 100 academic papers on the psychology of magic, illusion, deception, luck and self-development. His books include *The Luck Factor* and *59 Seconds*. He is currently Professor of the Public Understanding of Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire. He has over 4 million subscribers across his Quirkology and In59Seconds YouTube channels.
