Unlocking the potential of words: Natural Language Processing insights from the National Innovation Centre for Data
Explore the game-changing world of Natural Language Processing (NLP) as I uncover the impact of large language models (LLMs). These models have reshaped how we handle information, making waves in tasks like information retrieval and classification. Businesses, drowning in textual data, are eager to gain insights, and this hunger is mirrored in the recent projects undertaken by the National Innovation Centre for Data. In this presentation, I'll discuss the core concepts and recent advancements in LLMs. Focused on the NLP expertise at the National Innovation Centre for Data, I'll showcase how we've applied these models to solve real business problems. Join me for a practical exploration of NLP, where theory meets the real world, and discover how we leverage our know-how to make sense of the vast sea of text data.
1900--1920h: Intermission & changeover
1920--1955h: Rob Geada, Responsible AI Tech Lead @ Red Hat
An Introduction to Trustworthy and Responsible AI
Artificial Intelligence is integral to modern business, and its importance will only continue to grow. However, the popularity of AI has also exposed the flaws and dangers present in its unmoderated usage: the propagation of data biases, unethical reasoning in decision-making, and erratic out-of-distribution behaviour, to name a few. In order to practice a responsible AI strategy, you need to be able to understand how your models are operating, to interrogate the justification behind their decisions, and flag problematic behaviours as they arise. In this talk, I'll provide a practical introduction to the broad palette of explainable AI techniques available so you can ensure that your AI strategy is trustworthy and responsible.
