Experiential learning @ Newcastle University : NICD's Data Innovation Bootcamps @ The Catalyst

This talk will introduce the Data Innovation Bootcamps, run by the National Innovation Centre for Data for Newcastle University students each year in Spring and Summer. Each bootcamp challenges cohorts of students, drawn from a range of subject disciplines and backgrounds, to attempt to tackle real-world challenges posed by organisations over the period of a single week. The challenges posed are typically open-ended, to encourage blue-sky thinking, but grounded by data, to allow for evidence-based decisions and solutions. The talk will cover the format of the bootcamps, illustrate case studies of prior challenges, and inform as to how organisations can get involved with NICD in setting problems for future camps.
