Details

In this session we’ll explore how to onboard on-premises and multi-cloud servers into Azure using Azure Arc, and then extend Azure governance and security controls to them.
We’ll break down what Arc-enabled servers are, why they matter, and showβ€”step by stepβ€”how to bring non-Azure machines into the Azure control plane.
You’ll see, in practice:

  • What Azure Arc is and how Arc-enabled servers work
  • Onboarding a Windows/Linux server into Azure Arc
  • Using Azure Policy for compliance (patching, configuration, security baselines)
  • Applying RBAC, tags, and locks to non-Azure resources
  • Integrating with Defender for Cloud for advanced security insights
  • Monitoring with Azure Monitor & Insights

### Who should attend

Infra/Cloud engineers, architects, platform & ops teams, and anyone managing hybrid or multicloud servers who wants to unify governance and security under Azure.

### Key takeaways

  • Understand what Arc-enabled servers are and why they’re useful
  • Learn a repeatable, portal-based onboarding approach
  • Extend Azure governance (Policy, RBAC, Defender) to hybrid servers
  • Avoid common pitfalls (network/firewall requirements, agent issues, identity setup)
