About us
A friendly group for comedy lovers across the North East. We go to comedy clubs, tour shows, and the odd special event, basically anywhere there’s a good chance of having a laugh.
If you enjoy stand-up, live comedy, and a decent night out with sound people, you’ll fit right in. Suggestions for shows, venues, and nights out are always welcome.
The group is free to join. If you’d like to chuck a few quid our way once or twice a year to help cover running costs, like the Meetup subscription and organising events, donations are hugely appreciated. You can donate via https://ko-fi.com/gosforthgatherings or just hand me the money at a meetup.

Coffee and good craic without the comedy
Tyneside Bar Cafe, 10 Pilgrim Street, Tyne and Wear, GBI’m trying something a little different with this meetup.
Normally, when people go to our events, there’s a stage, a microphone, and someone trying to be funny. This time there’s none of that. Just coffee and conversation.
The idea is simple, meet somewhere relaxed, grab a drink, and have a chat. No performance, no pressure, just a chance to talk, meet new people, and enjoy some good company.
You can talk about whatever you like, life, work, hobbies, ideas, or just how your week’s been going. If you fancy a laid-back conversation and meeting new people, you’re very welcome to come along.

The Suggestibles invite audience suggestions - things like locations, jobs and relationships - then shape them into side-splitting scenes, songs and spontaneous theatrical mayhem that exist for one night only… but you’ll still be laughing in the morning. With more than twenty years at the heart of the North East comedy scene - and fifteen of those lighting up The Stand - whether you’re a first-timer or a lifelong fan, you’re part of the party.

Britain’s Got Talent winner Lost Voice Guy is back in Newcastle, trying out brand new material for his next tour show.
This is a work in progress night, which means fresh jokes, half-baked ideas, technology that might misbehave, and plenty of chances to see how a show is built from the ground up. Some bits will be brilliant, some bits might be blamed on autocorrect.
Expect sharp observations, silly stories, and new material about life with a Geordie voice, a talking iPad, and a world that still can’t quite cope.
A rare chance to see one of Newcastle’s own testing new jokes in a relaxed setting.
We’ll meet up before the show for a drink and a chat — full details will be shared in the event chat on the day.
