Announcing a new Meetup for The Toledo New Friends/New In Town Meetup Group!

What: Wednesday Night Autumn Walk (Wildwood Preserve)

When: Wednesday, October 6,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Wildwood Preserve Metropark
5100 W Central Ave
Toledo, OH 43615

Let's try a Wednesday night walk at Wildwood to see Toledo's fall foliage. Fall peak color is supposed to be early October in Northern Ohio. Plus you get some exercise and have some conversation.

We will meet at the Metz Center (fountain) for introductions and hellos and leave by 6:15p.m. - about an hour (and a bit) out walking/hiking.

Wildwood Preserve
5100 W. Central Ave. (two entrances between Corey and Reynolds roads), Toledo

Open 7 a.m. until dark every day

Wildwood is the former family estate of a local automotive executive. Metroparks purchased the estate grounds, including the family home, in the 1970s. The prairie community at Wildwood is home to many diverse and fascinating plants and animals, providing them with critical habitat throughout the year. In spring, it is an essential breeding site for ground-nesting birds such as rufous-sided towhees, field sparrows and American woodcock. Summer brings a spectacular display of prairie wildflowers and grasses, such as rough blazing star, big bluestem and Indian grasses, some reaching 10 feet high.
