Ramapo Mountain: Lake, Castle & Scenic Views

Join us for a ~5.5-mile hike through Ramapo Mountain State Forest!
We'll follow a scenic route featuring:

• 🌲 Forest and rocky mountain trails
• 🏞️ Ramapo Lake
• 🏰 The ruins of Van Slyke Castle
• 🪨 Rocky ridgelines and viewpoints
• 🌄 Scenic overlooks along the way

Distance: ~5.5 miles
Difficulty: Moderate (according to AllTrails).
Expected duration: ~2.5–3 hours
Please arrive 5-10 minutes early and meet at the (Blue blazed) trailhead at the end of the parking lot. We’ll start hiking promptly at the meeting time.
Bring water, snacks and appropriate hiking shoes. The trails have some rocky and uneven sections, with a few steep climbs.
We’ll hike at a steady pace.

We may go out for food after if enough people are interested.
