Drawing and Painting with PATI

PLEASE Text at 714 307-6607. These fun and exciting classes are taught by professional artist Pati Kent. The classes are for beginning and intermediate students ages 14-adult who wish to improve their drawing and painting skills.

Classes will include warm ups, basic drawing exercises, right brain exercises and drawing techniques using graphite, charcoal, pastel, ink and watercolor pencils. Students may bring in a painting they need help with or bring materials to start a new painting. Suggested paint: acrylic

Each student will be given assignments in their sketch books. Observation drawings will be from a still life on the model stand. Other drawings will be from photographs. Paintings may be from still life or photograph.

The classes are designed to be continuous so each student may work at their own pace to achieve their personal goals.

Students are responsible for their own materials from a suggested materials list:

Charcoal pencils: 4B, 6B

Graphite Pencils: HB, 2B, 4B, 6B

Erasers: Kneaded, White magic

Hand held pencil sharpener

Drawing tablet 14x17

Sketch book

Acrylic paints: white, black, red, yellow, blue

Suggested student pack brushes.

Suggested 11 x 14 Bristol Paper pad for painting (in lieu of canvas)

Optional: Soft pastels, vine charcoal, liquid black ink pen, watercolor pencils
