Hello, many apologies for the delayed posting- I have been away quite a bit for work and on leave.

At the July meeting we decided not to have a meeting in August- in previous years the August meeting has been very poorly attended and many were away. So our next meeting will be in September: 1st September at 6.30pm in Café Couture, Newton Abbot.

The Midnight Watch was generally quite well liked and we had a good chat about the book- it was lovely to see regular and new members! We gave it a score of 3.5.

The September book is 'I'm Off Then' by Hape Kerkeling, a humourous account of his pilgrimage across the Pyrenees to the Spanish shrine of St James. The New York Times described it as being "Written with a gentle, wry humour that recalls Bill Bryson"- so it should provide some light holiday reading!

For those of you who like to read ahead, our October and November Books are:
October: C.J. Sansom, "Winter in Madrid"
November: John Steinbeck, "Cannery Row"

Please do get in touch if you have any suggestions- particularly for books!

Have a great summer!

Best Wishes

Tracey
