Join us on 213 acres - Delco's newest and largest park! Originally part of the former Don Guanella School near Reed and Sproul Roads in Marple, this property contains beautiful woodlands, wetlands, and wildlife.

A new parking lot is under construction on Reed Road, but since it was not open as of this past Sunday, you can park across the street in the lot to the right (east) of Home Depot. Then carefully come across the street to the trail head.

The trails are still being developed and are currently pretty narrow. This mostly single-file hike will include steep, slippery slopes with nothing to hold onto but your hat. :) There are also several shallow water crossings without bridges. Exciting! Fun! But slippery and a bit strenuous with long grasses, briars, branches, etc. You might want to wear long pants and hiking boots. A thermos of water is also helpful.

If you’re good with a challenging, gorgeous, approximately 2 & 1/2 mile hike - start your Saturday morning (Aug 26th) with us!! We'll leave at 7:00am, and since this is a joint event with the great people from Connect Edgmont and Friends of Marple Newtown Trails, please be prompt. :D

Several wonderful guides will explain the history of this property, and some of the plans for the future of this precious environment. Not sure if it will continue to include the dirt bike course up near the high school. But we'll visit that too!

Looking forward to seeing you Saturday the 26th at a bit before 7:00AM!
