Delco Woods Hike and History

Join us for a hike with the Friends of Marple Newtown Trails through the Delco Woods County Park (behind the former Don Guanella property). The hike will be led by Sam Pickard (Marple Historical Society) and Ken Hemphill (led the effort to protect the woods from development).

The hike will be about 3 miles and feature the history and natural beauty of the 200+ acre woods. We’ll meet at the parking lot on Reed Road. The hike will include some steep slopes and steppingstone stream crossings, so bring your boots and walking sticks!

After the roughly 90 minute hike, the historic Massey House, at 469 Lawrence Road, will be open for us with refreshments and hot chocolate.
