Newy Stroll & Swim Club

Hey there, Newy winter warriors! We will always love Newy beaches under the summer sun, but something that wins our hearts is that invigorating (slightly crazy) feeling one has as they sip a hot brew after a crisp winter swim! This is something we wish to experience with you every Thursday morning!
We will meet at Estabar Newcastle Beach at 6:30 am, walk up the Nobby's break wall and back for a dip in the just cleaned yesterday Newcastle Oceans Baths and then cosy up for laughs, chats with new connections and long-term friends at Estabar!

So, Hi there! Emily Atkinson and Iresha Sullivan here, two friends who met at Icebergs Sydney, who, as the stars aligned, found ourselves in Newy. Iresha, or "Reesh", grew up in Newcastle and moved home, and Emily moved up following love! After settling in, we decided to bring our love of the ocean, great chats and community to others.

Why do a walk and swim together when we can share it with others, and hopefully bring others new friends, connections, inspiration and ideas!?
In a fast and often demanding world, it's easy to put those moments of self-care and connection to the side, but if we have a morning when we can start the day together, what an amazing day we will have from there!

Now we encourage the swim, it'll test our courage (and our tolerance for chilly water), but it's not mandatory- only the laugh and squeal in support is! No judgment, too, if you shriek louder than a seagull when you first jump in. It's all about embracing the invigorating feeling of being alive – and laughing at ourselves in the process.

As mentioned, we'll thaw out at Estabar with some delicious, hot beverages. This is our time to get to know each other and have a good laugh, and maybe even find new people we can call our close friends!

So come on, don't let the cooler weather stop you from having fun and staying active! Join us at the Newy Stroll and Swim Social, where we'll prove that winter can be just as wild and wonderful as any other season. Of course, this Club is year-round, but what better time to start than the winter!?

A towel, swimmers and a toasty warm jumper.
Mentally loaded cuppa order!

We encourage you to park between the baths and Estabar, and we will meet at Estabar before heading on our walk.
Parking is FREE up until 9 am.

(Note: Doggies are welcome; however, the ocean baths are a dog-free zone, though an ocean dip might be on the cards if not the baths- however, owner discretion is advised regarding leaving your dog parked at the entrance.)

We have so many exciting things planned for this group, beyond this event and rain, hail, or shine, we will be there, and we can't wait to see you, meet you, and welcome you as part of our Newy Stroll & Swim Club family!
