Behind their walls, coronations affirmed order, alliances shifted, and myths outlived their makers. From Europe’s courts to Asia’s fortresses, it’s time to step inside these monuments of imagination and resilience to discover how ceremony, culture, and ambition shaped history.

Join New York Adventure Club for a captivating five-part series exploring castles, palaces, and fortresses that embodied the ambitions of rulers across Europe and Asia. In Part Four: Germany & Czech Republic, we’ll uncover how Neuschwanstein and Prague Castle became symbols of vision, fantasy, and artistic obsession.

Led by tour guide Kelsey Betzelberger, this experience — featuring plenty of firsthand photo and video walkthroughs, intriguing anecdotes, and expert insights — will include:

• An exploration of Neuschwanstein Castle — King Ludwig II’s romantic creation, inspired by Wagnerian opera and medieval legend
• A closer look at Ludwig’s legacy — his passions, eccentricities, and mysterious downfall that gave rise to enduring myths
• Insights into Bavarian culture — how the landscape, traditions, and art influenced one of Europe’s most famous “fairy-tale castles”
• A look at Prague Castle — the sprawling seat of Bohemian kings and Holy Roman Emperors, with centuries of political and cultural influence
• An overview of Rudolf II’s eccentric court — a ruler who gathered alchemists, artists, and astronomers in pursuit of knowledge and imagination
• A discussion of art and myth in Central Europe — how stories, music, and creative vision left their mark on these enduring landmarks
