It's time to uncover Peru’s most iconic and meaningful places, and explore how its living traditions continue to captivate, inspire, and endure.

Join New York Adventure Club for a seven-part series that delves into the diverse regions of Peru, uncovering how geography, history, and tradition come together to shape one of the world’s most dynamic and enduring cultures. In Part Seven: Iquitos, we’ll journey into the heart of the Amazon, where daily life flows with the river, Indigenous traditions thrive, and biodiversity shapes both culture and survival.

Led by Peruvian Tour Guide and cultural expert Vanessa Vasquez, our deep dive into the different regions of Peru will include:

• Life in Iquitos, the world’s largest city with no road access, shaped by both the rubber boom and jungle traditions
• Other key Amazonian towns, each offering a glimpse into how communities adapt to a river-bound world
• Unique rainforest wildlife, from pink river dolphins to the plants that sustain medicine and ritual
• Indigenous knowledge and spirituality, rooted in a profound relationship with the forest and its rivers
• Amazonian cuisine, featuring dishes like juanes, paiche fish, and fruits such as camu camu
• The Feast of San Juan, a lively festival honoring the rainforest’s patron saint with music, food, and celebration
