Dear group members,

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful fall. I am very happy to announce that after closing our monthly series ‘The Flame: Flamenco Infused Jazz’ (https://www.facebook.com/events/202226113519073/), we are now back for the third edition of ‘The Flame Festival’ on Wednesday, November 16th at one of the world’s top jazz venues: The Jazz Standard (http://www.jazzstandard.com/?event=20161116). We have two amazing sets: at 7:30pm I will be opening the festival with my trio The Rebeca Vallejo (http://www.rebecavallejo.com) Trio (George Dulin- piano and David Silliman- percussion/drums) and we will be showcasing our unique mixture of Jazz, Flamenco, Brazilian music and body percussion. The second set at 9:30pm closes the festival with a performance by Latin Grammy nominee Chano Domínguez (http://www.chanodominguez.info), the father of the Flamenco-Jazz movement, award winning and worldwide musical phenomenon who has worked with legends such as Paco de Lucía. I HOPE TO SEE YOU ALL THERE!

‘The Flame: Flamenco Infused Jazz’ is a series of jazz flamenco concerts that showcases the work of musicians whose artistic vision, although strongly based in Jazz sounds and approaches, latches onto the roots of Flamenco.

The fusion of Flamenco with the flavors of the old and new continents not only preserves this genre, but also helps to take it further into the future.

This festival is made possible with the support of Spain Culture NY (Consulate general of Spain NY), Jazz Standard, World Music Boutique Productions, and the media sponsorship of Jazz de la Pena, Noticia, My LifeStyle Magazine, Noticia Corta y Queens Latino.
