Angels Landing Hike (Zion) - two date choices
Location not specified yetThe intention of this meetup is to provide instructions for this OPTIONAL activity while we are camping at Zion National Park.
Hike Angels Landing
- Everyone who hikes Angels Landing will be required to have a permit and it is a lottery process through Recreation.gov
- The hike is strenuous, and your safety is your responsibility.
- The permit process is your individual responsibility. Below are links to help in your planning process.
FAQs & Important info
- How do I apply for a permit? Learn how to apply for a permit on recreation.gov to hike at Angels Landing in Zion National Park
https://www.nps.gov/zion/planyourvisit/angels-landing-hiking-permits.htm

- Which date do I select? Since this is a permit required hike, the date of the hike will be your choice between April 29th (Wednesday) or April 30th (Thursday).
- What is the LINK TO REC.GOV FOR ANGELS LANDING (SPRING HIKE)
https://www.recreation.gov/permits/4675310
## Important Dates
Jan 1-20th, 2026 Seasonal lottery for spring dates (hike from March 1-May 31, 2026)
Jan. 25th, 2026 Notification of results of spring seasonal lottery
April 28-29, 2026 Day-before lotteries (apply on day in advance of desired hiking date)
(If you didn’t get a permit through the seasonal lottery, then you can try again the day before you want to hike)- I don't want to get a permit, but I want to hike as far as I can without a permit:
The portion that does not require permits is the hike to Walters Wiggles, which is the last point. Beyond that point is the Angels Landing permit portion.
- I’m afraid of heights.
- Safety is the utmost priority, if you have a fear of heights, you can hike until Scout Lookout which according to the Photo Gallery is a good stopping point.
- I want to go, what's next?
If you are interested in Angels Landing hike (permit) or doing the Walters Wiggles Hike (no-permit)
- Please RSVP to get a headcount, and continue with your permit process for Angels Landing. Remember to apply to the lottery process/submit applications from Jan 1-20th.
- Check back on your email or Rec.gov. On January 25th. If you are awarded a permit, congrats!!
- Please indicate in the comment section. It is my hope that the group can meet together at camp and then proceed to the hike.
**It is imperative that you understand the strenuous nature and possible dangers of this hike. Researching the trail, weather conditions and preparations is solely your responsibility. By attending this meetup Angels Landing , you acknowledge that I am not a guide, nor a professional, and you accept all responsibility for your permit and your safety, and release Rosalyn Borunda of all liability.
Good Luck!!
