Yosemite Horsetail Fall (Winter)

This meetup is focused on viewing the Horsetail Fall during sunset on this three day weekend in February, as well to see how beautiful it is in Yosemite during the winter. Overall plan:
We (Marta and I) are checking in Friday evening into Curry Village (heated canvas tents)
Saturday, Feb 14th:
We will most likely take the free shuttle in the late afternoon from Curry Village to the Yosemite Falls parking/Yosemite Valley Lodge, then proceed to make the 1.5 mile walk to the viewing area and patiently find a spot to wait with the crowd til sunset.
For those who RSVP and want to try to view this together, I'll create a group text thread to discuss an meeting location and time window a few days before the event. We’ll be dressing warm, gloves, hat and headlamps for the walk back. Please be mindful about the weather forecast for Yosemite Valley.
Dining: AFTER the Firefall, we’ll walk back 1.5 miles to the Yosemite Valley Lodge to grab dinner/drink at Mountain Room Lounge located in the Yosemite Valley Lodge area. There’s a big indoor fireplace and its a nice place to relax and socialize. It will generally be busy with first come first serve table options.

Sunday morning (weather permitting): Walking to Mirror Lake: we’ll take a relaxing walk to Mirror Lake. (Day pack, warm beverage, Microspikes recommended).
