The intention of this meetup is to provide instructions for this OPTIONAL activity while we are camping at Zion National Park.

Hike Angels Landing

  1. **Everyone who hikes Angels Landing will be required to have a permit and it is a lottery process through Recreation.gov**
  2. The hike is strenuous, and your safety is your responsibility.
  3. The permit process is your individual responsibility. Below are links to help in your planning process.

  1. Which date do I select? Since this is a permit required hike, the date of the hike will be your choice between April 29th (Wednesday) or April 30th (Thursday).

## Important Dates

Jan 1-20th, 2026 Seasonal lottery for spring dates (hike from March 1-May 31, 2026)

Jan. 25th, 2026 Notification of results of spring seasonal lottery

April 28-29, 2026 Day-before lotteries (apply on day in advance of desired hiking date)
(If you didn’t get a permit through the seasonal lottery, then you can try again the day before you want to hike)

  1. I don't want to get a permit, but I want to hike as far as I can without a permit:

The portion that does not require permits is the hike to Walters Wiggles, which is the last point. Beyond that point is the Angels Landing permit portion.

  1. I’m afraid of heights.
  2. Safety is the utmost priority, if you have a fear of heights, you can hike until Scout Lookout which according to the Photo Gallery is a good stopping point.
  3. I want to go, what's next?

If you are interested in Angels Landing hike (permit) or doing the Walters Wiggles Hike (no-permit)

  1. Please RSVP to get a headcount, and continue with your permit process for Angels Landing. Remember to apply to the lottery process/submit applications from Jan 1-20th.
  2. Check back on your email or [Rec.gov](http://rec.gov). On January 25th. If you are awarded a permit, congrats!!
  3. Please indicate in the comment section. It is my hope that the group can meet together at camp and then proceed to the hike.
