Offline Applications with Angular

Traditionally, web applications have been platform agnostic. They run on a web browser irrespective of the operating system. Today, they run on mobile devices as well. In the last decade, with the advent of mobile devices and the platforms posed new challenges. It is possible the devices move in and out of network coverage. Applications need to adapt to momentary loss of connectivity, ensure user data is not lost.

Imagine, a user fills-up a large form on an iPad. At the time of submission, she lost connectivity. For a commercial or an ecommerce application, if the user left without purchasing a product, it is a lost opportunity.

In this talk, Keerti is going to explore the options to persist data and synchronize at a later time. The talk introduces PWA (Progressive Web Apps), Service Workers and IndexedDB for an offline workflow. It showcases a use case and discusses implementation. It compares PWA with mobile apps.
