This session will set a focus on the ingress controller – showcasing several use cases – including advanced security features like authentication and web application security. The session will finish with a short outlook around “next generation ingress” aka Gateway API. The whole session will have minimal PowerPoint slides, focusing on on live demos and Q&A. - NGINX Unit: The Lightweight Universal Web App Server by Steffan Henke
NGINX Unit is a lightweight and versatile open-source server that has three core capabilities: it is a web server for static media assets, an application server that runs code in multiple languages, and a reverse proxy.
About Our Speakers:
Martin Petersen a specialist solution engineer within F5, focusing on modern apps and cloud architectures. This includes a holistic view of multi-cloud and how to manage AND secure apps (modern, hybrid, legacy) as well as how to steer traffic securely into a k8s cluster.
He loves to discuss how to approach challenges in modern architecures and how to mitigate it. Due to his background (Net & Sec Ops), I can understand the pain points for Net & SecOps following agile / modern architectures and always try to find solutions to get the best of both worlds: fast & secure, distributed & easy to manage/steer, fractured & observable. He has over 20 years experience in IT - starting as SecOps, Security Engineer and Security Consultant - before joining F5 in 2016 as Solution Engineer.
Steffan Henke is a Technical Solutions Engineer at NGINX/F5 based in Warsaw, Poland. Having worked in the IT sector for more than 25 years he has built a diverse background encompassing Security, Networking, Hardware and Software architecture. Coming from IT Operations, Steffan has a UNIX/Linux background and loves NGINX. Steffan interacts daily with NGINX customers, helping them translate their requirements into modern architecture.
All attendees abide by the NGINX Community Code of Conduct. Photos from this event may wind up on NGINX channels. Please let an organizer know if you do not want your picture shared.
