We are a community of javascript enthusiasts that share a love for Angular. Some of us have been using it for years and others are just hearing about it.

Each month we get together to hear about all the great things that make up the Angular framework and see what great things people are creating with it.

Wm Leler: The Future of Angular & Beyond (Straight from a Googler!)

WE'RE BACK FOR 2019! NOTE -- we'll be at Vacasa's NEW OFFICE: 850 NW 13th Ave Portland, OR 97209 It's in the same building as Kure, just a block south of the old location. We'll also have food from our friends at VanderHouwen! We're thrilled to have Wm Leler from Google speaking to us tonight! The Talk Wm Leler - "The Future: Angular and Beyond" - A high-level overview of several open source projects at Google from a developer's perspective, including Angular, AngularDart, Flutter, Flutter for Desktop, and Hummingbird. Don't worry if you haven't heard of some of these. I'll try to keep it short so we have time for questions and maybe even some demos. The Speakers Wm Leler is a Senior Software Engineer and a Developer Advocate at Google. Before Google, Wm started several successful computer companies, wrote a seminal book on computer languages, another book on 3D computer graphics, has given talks at hundreds of conferences, and created the first computer generated hologram. Wm has a PhD in Computer Science and degrees in Electrical Engineering and Fine Arts. Note that January and February will be on Tuesdays!

Kyle Shevlin is a JavaScript developer, Egghead course instructor, and the host of the 2nd Career Devs podcast. He's also a ton of fun! We need one more speaker for this event! Why not you? Continuing the trend of trying new things in 2019, we've got Jason Lengstorf from Gatsby coming to talk to us about how to build your portfolio (that website you have that is supposed to get you jobs and into conferences). Jason's Super Official Bio: Jason Lengstorf is a developer advocate, senior engineer, and occasional designer at Gatsby. He’s an advocate for building highly productive teams through better communication, well designed systems and processes, and healthy work-life balance, and he blogs about that sometimes. He lives in Portland, Oregon. We still need one more speaker for this event! Why not you? Note that March is back on Thursday!

You read that right, people: VAIDEHI JOSHI is coming to speak to us. She's still figuring out what she wants to talk about, but as the host of an entire podcast on computer science, I think she'll come up with something. Vaidehi's Super Official Bio: Vaidehi is an engineer at Tilde, in Portland, Oregon, where she works on Skylight. She enjoys building and breaking code, but loves creating empathetic engineering teams a whole lot more. She is the creator of basecs, a weekly writing series that explores the fundamentals of computer science, co-host of the Base.cs Podcast, and a producer of the BaseCS video series. Currently, she is at work on baseds, a writing series on the basics of distributed systems. We still need one more speaker for this event! Why not you? Note that April is back on Thursday!
