Weekly Lake Event - Rolling, Rescues, … and Socializing!
All WW, Sea, Canoe, and Flatwater paddlers welcome.- You MUST register online at activities.outdoors.org for each week!
- Direct link to the August 20th event where you sign the AMC waiver.
What do YOU want to practice on the water today? Popular choices include conversation, rolling, solo and assisted rescues, strokes, mentoring, unwinding/resting, “Stupid Kayak Tricks,” and telling bad jokes.
This is NOT a CLASS. This is practice, play, and socializing. This is the informal exchange of feedback, pointers, and support between paddlers. This is FUN!
We are hosting this event for 11 Wednesday sessions through the summer (June 18-Aug 27). You MUST register online to sign the AMC waiver at activities.outdoors.org for each week. However, you can show up late. You can leave early. The event officially ends when the last listed Trip Leader departs.
Bill has rolled using euro paddles, Greenland paddles, a canoe paddle, a norsaq, hand paddles, swim gloves, a paddle float, a neoprene avataq, and done the venerable hand roll. Collectively we have rescued paddlers in flat water, white water, and breaking ocean surf. We are attending because we want to improve our own skills, and to share knowledge with other paddlers. We hope you will come ready to improve your skills, and to share your knowledge as well.
We will normally meet at either Silver Lake in Hollis, NH, or Potanipo Lake in Brookline, NH (they are about ten minutes apart by car), both just west of Nashua, NH, and just north of the Massachusetts border. Before heading out on Wednesday, check to see which lake we are attending at this link: https://docs.google.com/document
