Details

| Theme 1: "Async approaches: Promises vs Callbacks" | Theme 2: "Extreme performance: JS vs ASMjs vs PNaCl vs UWP" | Speaker: Miloš Žikić |

Saturday, November 18th @ Centar za inovativno preduzetništvo mladih, Elektronski Fakultet, Niš

After a summer pause, we are back with some amazing topics!

  1. Async approaches: Promises vs Callbacks;

JS is becoming more and more asynchronous, thanks to the increasing complexity of web apps. A big challenge here is to keep the code simple, while maintaining the async flow. Are vanilla JS Promises a solution to this problem, or good old callbacks can handle everything?

  1. Extreme performance: JS vs ASM.js vs PNaCl vs UWP;

Real time video decoding, or any other CPU/GPU intensive work, is a challange in JS. You need the maximum performance from the language which is designed to handle form validations. So the questions is - can you run at native speeds directly from JS?

Our speaker (for both of the themes) will be Miloš Žikić from Frame.

Miloš works as a Front-end Team Lead @Frame, but he also enjoys JavaScript coding. He is not a fan of buzzword frameworks -- he is more focused on common sense and well designed architecture.

Agenda:

16:45 - 17:00 Check in;
17:00 - 17:05 Intro;
17:05 - 17:50 Async approaches: Promises vs Callbacks;
17:50 - 18:05 Coffee break;

Frame is a revolutionary cloud platform that lets enterprises deliver Windows apps to users on any device, anywhere. We built it from scratch for the cloud age, so even the most complex visual apps run smoothly, every time.

Some of the biggest industries in the field—such as Adobe, Hewlett-Packard, and Siemens – are our customers. We have also secured more than 30 million dollars in investments and are growing at an amazing rate. To date, Frame has about 80 employees, with that number being projected to double by the end of 2018.

This meetup will be in Serbian and there's no live streaming.

RSVP is mandatory because we have limited number of seats.
