Tired of sitting at a desk all day? Gradient Ascent Promenade (GAP) is a community for Machine Learning researchers, engineers, and enthusiasts in Nice who want to discuss deep technical topics while walking the Promenade des Anglais or exploring the city.
Our conversations span the entire stack: from core ML subfields (NLP, RL, Vision, Retrieval systems) down to practical hardware-level implementations (CUDA, Triton, inference optimization) and software engineering best practices for modern ML pipelines.
Whether you're training models, writing kernels, or building data stacks, come walk and talk with us! We're kicking things off with casual walking meetups to connect local practitioners, with plans to expand into formal paper-reading sessions, whiteboard talks, and workshops as our community grows.
