Full Strawberry Moon

Hello Moonlighters! Are you stoked to watch the Strawberry Moon ripen over the city? Well, check this out...

This is going to be a very unique full moon, just a day after the Solstice. It will be the very lowest full Moon in years. This means it should appear bigger than ever."

The hike will be mellow, around 2 miles and about 400ft elevation gain.

The temps are usually warm-ish with the sun at our backs, but once it sets, things will cool down fast. Temperature can swing more dramatically in the mountains.

I recommend you bring:
*Clothes for changing conditions. (I always stuff a puffy jacket in my daypack)
*A liter or more of water
*A headlamp or a charged phone that has a flashlight on it

If anyone has a telescope or binoculars, that would be a great thing to share.

I'll be at the Westridge Trailhead (https://maps.app.goo.gl/B6fHpvuc1PvkTebo7) at 7:40pm. At 7:50pm we'll start hiking up.

There is a little bit of parking at the top and plenty on the streets just short of the trail.

After the moon rises, there will be a chance to circle up and share one good thing that happened during the last moon cycle and one thing you hope to achieve in the next (no pressure.. you can pass!)
