Announcing a new Meetup for The Twin Cities Night Life Meetup Group!

When: Saturday, December 11,[masked]:00 PM

Where: Minneapolis Theater Garage
711 W Franklin Ave
Minneapolis, MN 55405

I know nothing about this EXCEPT it has Joseph Scrimshaw. And that's a bid except. I'm a total fan and have yet to see something by him or with him in it that sucked.

I have been to the Garage Theater. It's uptown and, as you may guess by it's name, it used to be a garage. It certainly won't be mistaken for the Guthrie, but then neither could the prices.

I'm reserving 12 spots. This is also listed with Twin City Comedy Night. If we get more than 12 early on, I'll check into expanding the reservation. I may also be able to negotiate a discount from the normal $20. Usually I can with a group of 12. I'd expect the discount to be about 10% off - the same as what you get with your Fringe button (you did go to the Fringe, didn't you?).

I'd like to grab something to eat and something to drink before the show somewhere nearby in Uptown. I haven't picked a place yet, if you are interested, I'm open to suggestions. I'll ignore them, but I'm open to them.

I picked Saturday because we have the possibility of a double feature this night. After SPRC#1, the Garage Theater is showing the Dregs Adult Holiday Show. If people are interested, I'll check into a combo discount for both shows.

Written by Bill Corbett
In a dive bar on Christmas Eve, a disgruntled comic book writer fights with his collaborator (and ex-girlfriend) about his grand vision: a giant comic book reboot of Christmas, with its beloved icons reborn as superheroes. Thrill to tales of a brooding Santa! Shudder at the untold might of George Bailey! Question the relevance of Frostina the Snow-woman! Playwright and comedian, Bill Corbett (of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Rifftrax fame) tackles the age old question that plagues both comic books and the holidays: "Does this all make sense? I mean, really?" This December, it's on like ret-con.

Cast: Emily Gunyou Halaas*, Joseph Scrimshaw, Mo Perry, Matt Erkel and John Middleton.
Crew: Sara Stevenson Scrimshaw, Michael Pledl and Matt Erkel.

Super-Powered Revenge Christmas #1 is sponsored by Convergence Events, Incorporated--the non-profit organization responsible for the popular annual convention CONvergence. Join Convergence Events in the lobby at every show for info, events and more.

$20/$2 off for Fringe Button holders, Students or Seniors

$5 off with a 2010 CONvergence badge or merch

Possible double feature:

The Dregs' Adult Holiday Show at 10:30 PM
Listen to Christmas favorites twisted from the sacred to the profane as they sing catchy Holiday favorites like "Do you Have what I Have", "I want a Hysterectomy for Christmas" and crowd favorite "Twelve F***ing birds of Christmas!" Fun for the whole family! Unless you don't enjoy explaining a lot of inappropriate humor to your kids.

Cost $12
