Food Cart Friday & Big Al's Bowling

There's never been a better time to live here in Vancouver, WA. The Main Street Promise construction project will ensure we have a truly modern and beautiful downtown area to admire from inside our cars as we hunt endlessly for parking that doesn't exist. We're soon getting our very own In-N-Out Burger to go along with Shake Shack, Raising Cane's, Killer Burger, and TEN different Mexican fast food restaurants all located along a three-mile stretch of highway I've affectionately dubbed Ozempic Avenue. And don't even get me started on the new Lexus dealership! Ooh-la-la! 🤩

Perhaps most exciting of all is the fact that our city is now home to the largest food cart plaza in America, which currently features almost a dozen different food carts. Now, I know joyless contrarians have pointed out that this number does not actually constitute the largest collection of food carts in the country, or even within the city for that matter. It's a work-in-progress thing, okay. It's the same reason my dating app profiles all claim I'm the world's richest man. That may not technically be true at this exact moment, but I'm extremely confident it will be eventually.

What Vancouver Station lacks in volume, it definitely makes up for in presentation. The food carts surround a permanent central building that offers two stories of covered seating and features a coffee counter, ice cream shop, and a full bar. I think we'd be remiss in not capitalizing on the opportunity to visit the place before it explodes in popularity. Or shuts down. Honestly, it feels like it could go either way in this economy.

And speaking of capitalizing on opportunities, Big Al's is literally right there. What are we gonna do, NOT go bowling after we eat? Please. This group is entirely too classy for that, and anyone who says otherwise can go eat at one of those pathetic little rinky-dink food cart plazas in Oregon that probably doesn't even crack the nation's top ten.
