Ever since it opened last year, I've been enamored with Full Heart Irish Pub. The place is overflowing with such a hypnotically charismatic ambiance that I fully expect the building to gain sentience and start a cult at some point. The staff members are all incredibly friendly, the food is terrific, and every drink I've had there has been a work of liquid art. The bar's solitary flaw is its tiny footprint. Even if I put an attendance cap on an event set there, it would be a roll of the dice whether or not we'd be able to claim adjacent seating during the early-evening rush on a weekend. And the idea of someone having to sit alone is just heartbreaking. (Get it??)

This dilemma has weighed heavily on my mind for months. Until last night, that is. After fourteen straight hours of meditation, my third eye opened and I finally grasped the elusive truth I sought. Rather than starting an event at Full Heart, I can make it the end destination. Only those few with the physical strength and spiritual fortitude to last until the fourth stop on a Nightlife in the Couve bar crawl will be permitted to experience the unreal splendor of this hallowed place.

Or you can go there on your own sometime. Whatever.

We'll begin the night at Shanahan's to ensure everyone has an opportunity to enjoy at least a small sampling of Irish culture. From there, we'll venture south by way of Brickhouse Bar & Grill and Tap Union Freehouse, before finally arriving at our ultimate destination next to Kiggins Theatre.

Although the journey is only thirteen minutes long by foot according to Google Maps, it is a path fraught with perilous distraction. The dopamine offered by reality is scarce compared to the internet, after all, and the cool night air will make many of you long for the warm, erotic caress of the detachable showerhead at home. Most of you won't make it to the end, and that's all right. The memories of your efforts will be retold in the survivors' toasts, and our final beverages of the evening will taste all the sweeter because you courageously dared the attempt—because you possessed the will to challenge fate and gave it your full heart.

This event is being cross-posted with our good friends at Vancouver Breweries and Taphouses and Sip Happens Social Club, a very cool new group for very cool people. Be sure to check it out! (If you're cool enough, I mean.)
