This group is for anyone who likes fresh air, friendly faces, good vibes and the occasional badly packed picnic.
Whether you're Dutch, new in town, or just a fan of getting lost in the woods (mostly on purpose), you're in the right place.
We like to mix things up to keep it interesting: Hiking, biking, camping, sailing, sports (no pressure) food, weekend trips, day trips, etcetera.
Expect a mix of nature, laughs, and spontaneous plans that somehow come together in the end.
Got an idea for an event? Don’t be shy, share it! We're always up for something fun, weird, or wonderfully random.
Whether it’s a forest walk, a city stroll, or an experimental group canoe situation, we’re open to it.
The more we explore together, the better the stories get.

See all- Giethoorn Like a Tourist: The Classic Canal Experience 🏡 🚤 🏡Needs location
Ready to experience the most iconic village in the Netherlands the way all tourists do?
Join us for a full-on Giethoorn adventure — a scenic walk through canals with charming thatched-roof houses, international crowds with cameras and selfie sticks, and a boat traffic jam that somehow turns into a fun activity on water. Boats gently bump into each other, people talk, laugh, and take photos, and everyone’s soaking in the beauty. This is the Venice of the North, and we’re doing it in the most touristic way — on a warm summer Sunday when Giethoorn truly comes to life!
# 🗓️ Plan for the Day
- 12:30–13:00 – 📍Meeting Point: Kulturhus De Eendracht 📍(next to the bus stop and Plus supermarket). We’ll gather in front of Kulturhus, stock up on snacks and drinks, and kick off the day.
🚏 Note: when taking the bus from Steenwijk station, there are several bus stops in Giethoorn - you need the one in the center called “Dominee Hylkemaweg”.

13:00–14:30 – Walk along the canals to the boat rental 🏡🚶🏡
A beautiful, relaxing walk through the heart of Giethoorn. Expect postcard views and time to take photos before boarding the boats. -
14:30–16:30 – Boat tour with island stop + nature route 🚤🚤🚤
We’ll take self-service electric boats (sloeps), explore the classic canal routes, and head toward a small island for a short break — perfect for a swim if the weather is on our side. Then we’ll take a peaceful nature route through the wetlands before returning.
P.S. we don’t get a driver, so anyone can become one for a bit ;) -
16:30 – 18:00 – Optional group activities 🏹
After we return the boats, we’ll decide together what to do next — mini-golf, archery, or cycling to a nearby Giethoorn-like village. We can do it all as one group or split up based on interests.
☝️ Note: last buses to Steenwijk leave around 17:15 and 18:15, so plan your trip back home accordingly 🚌
- After 18:00 – Dinner & sunset for those who stay 🌅
If you’d like to stay longer, we’ll grab something for dinner and enjoy the sunset on the local beach. We’ll arrange a car ride back to Steenwijk for a few people, or you can share a taxi to the station.

### 💶 Boat Rental & Costs
We’ll use a self-service boat rental with high-quality sloeps, good availability, and great prices.
- Estimated cost: €10–15 per person, depending on the group size and final duration.
- Booking fee: €10 per person (to confirm your spot). We'll reach out to you with a Tikkie request after you RSVP.
- The remaining amount can be paid at the event via Tikkie or cash
🙅♂️ Cancellation policy: If your plans change, let us know at least 36 hours in advance to get a refund. After that, we’ll try to fill your spot, but can’t promise a refund.
☔ Note: If the weather turns out to be really bad (rainy, windy, or stormy), we’ll have to postpone the event to another weekend. You’ll be notified in advance, and we’ll refund the booking fee if you decide to opt out.

### ✅ What to bring
Comfy shoes, water, sunscreen, snacks, swimwear and a blanket (if you want to swim), and something to sit on if we hang out on the island or beach. And of course, your phone or camera for the true touristic experience!)

Stuck behind a desk all week? Time to climb some walls instead! No skills needed, just good vibes.
Join us Wednesday evening June 18th at 19:30 at Grip Boulderhal for a fun and relaxed bouldering session!
Whether you're a seasoned climber or wanna try it for the first time, everyone is welcome. We’ll meet at the entrance, warm up a bit, and then hit the walls. Afterward, there’s always the option to grab a drink and chat.

- Experience needed: None! (Bring your own climbing shoes if you have them. Rentals are also available.)
