## What we’re about

Nittany Freethought is a discussion and activist group in the Central Pennsylvania area. The group meets once a month at Schlow Library to discuss freethought issues such as separation of church and state, critical thinking, etc.

-------------------------------------

"Freethought is a philosophical viewpoint that holds that beliefs should be formed on the basis of science and logic and not be compromised by emotion, authority, tradition, or any dogma and that beliefs should instead be reached by other methods such as logic, reason, and empirical observation. Today, freethinking is most closely linked with secularism, atheism, agnosticism, humanism, and religious critique. The cognitive application of freethought is known as freethinking, and practitioners of freethought are known as freethinkers." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freethought
