Teacher Appreciation Night & Next Day Beach Day (POINT PLEASANT)

Teacher Appreciation Night!!!!!

Calling all of our amazing educators! Jenkinson’s Boardwalk is honoring you with our annual Teacher Appreciation Night at the Jenkinson’s Amusement Park in Point Pleasant. On Friday, May 16th from 6pm-11pm, Teachers (with a valid ID) and their immediate family can enjoy unlimited free rides and ropes course admission!

If you are a teacher, please indicate this in the comments so we can coordinate being with you when you get your wristbands. (We can't do it without you!)

Teachers, when you pre-register, please request as many wristbands as you can so we non-teachers can mooch off of you. (And we have many moochers!)

Registration check in starts at 4pm; the ride park will open at 6pm.

Teachers will need to have their "family" with them so they can all get their wristbands together. (So, teachers, make sure your "posse" is with you before you get your wristband on the day of the event!)

Wristbands can be picked up at the Adventure Lookout Ropes Course, located at the street end of Arnold Avenue.

*We did this last year....and it rocked!!! And the wristband distributors were chill and flexible. Teachers ride the rides for FREE, and they can get us non-teachers on the rides too. We just need to be there with a teacher to get our wristbands.....and we are in!

We should all make our own plans (e.g., book a room, book a campsite, stay with a friend, etc.) to stay over DTS ("Down the Shore" for non-Jersey natives), and we'll hit the FREE Ocean Grove beach the next day:

(As all real Jerseyans know, this is the last weekend that the beaches are FREE because the following weekend is MDW [Memorial Day Weekend]).

The goal should be to get there as early as possible because it does get crowded. Although the rides start at 6P (and the ropes course is 1st on the agenda, followed by the bumper cars!), they start giving out wristbands at 4PM. So, if we get there by 4 and get our wristbands, we can grab a bite to eat (teachers got us a discount last year), and then be ready to go by 6. Once it surges, we can hang out and reflect on our ride exploits, and enjoy an evening at Point Pleasant. (Make plans to stay over [prices are less because it is still pre-summer], and get ready for a beach day the next day!)

NOTE: I am not planning overnight accommodations for the group (for those staying overnight and going the beach on Saturday) but a number of people are asking about it. So, if anyone wants to plan this or hears of any good leads, please let us know.
