Hike at Wawayanda State Park - Terrace Pond West Loop (West Milford)

Hike Description

Experience this 4.7-mile loop trail near West Milford, New Jersey. Generally considered a moderately challenging route. This is a very popular area for hiking, and running, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.

Follow the Yellow blazes from Clinton Road to Terrace Pond to make a loop. Existing trails and woods roads create a loop that offers diverse forests and swamp views while leading you to Terrace Pond. Doing the route clockwise will bring you to the steepest sections of the trail first and save the easier terrain for the second half of the hike.

📍 Meeting point: The Main Parking lot. When traveling North on Clinton Rd, the lot will be on the left hand side. There isn't a street address, please use the Coordinates below.

The Coordinates are (41.14292,-74.40723). Please use these for GPS purposes. These coordinates will take you to the Parking lot. The parking lot is across the street from the trailhead.

⏳ Hiking Time: 3 hrs. This could change according to the group pace. (i.e. time to take photos and breaks). If you are in a hurry, please keep in mind that hikes can take a long time to complete.

There will be a 15 minute grace period for those running late. We cannot wait longer than 8:45 AM to begin, as it's not fair to those who showed up on time.
