Karen has 30+ years of experience in the IT industry, focused on developing systems, infrastructure and organizations to support computer modeling, environmental engineering and various projects in the media and telecommunications industries. Over her career, Karen advanced quickly into increasingly more responsible positions, holding several VP and CIO/CTO-level management jobs. She also served on the board of RealTime Media while working there as the CTO.

In 1994, Karen founded a successful consulting firm in Philadelphia, delivering management consulting services that included mission-critical systems engineering, merger and acquisition support and large-scale integration work at various area firms. Karen joined Software Quality Solutions (SQS), a Mercury Interactive Titanium Partner, as CTO in 2002. During her tenure there, Karen increased professional services by more than 200% and led a number of significant projects, including serving as the City of New York’s QA advisor for the well-known 311 project to increase citizen access to City government. Karen joined Melillo Consulting in 2007 as part of Melillo’s acquisition of SQS. In the past 7 years, Karen has steadily widened the Melillo Professional Services business presence to include management consulting, project and portfolio management, business intelligence and most recently, Big Data Analytics.

Karen’s technical background includes:

· Computer-based modeling (environmental engineering, econometric modeling)

· Electronic and digital publishing

· Large-scale technology transformations

· Complex software systems design and implementation

· Unification of IT and business strategy

· Innovation

Karen is known for her ability to help organizations define their visions, and then develop goals that enable them to achieve excellence. She is also recognized for her work in organizational transformation, and is a well-known speaker at HP and Microsoft events.

Karen has degrees from Albright College, Lehigh University and Nottingham University in England.
