The hike will begin promptly at 8:45 AM at Kakiat Park, located off Rt 202 in Montebello, NY
(GPS: 41.14579, -74.112855). Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to gear up and put on snowshoes. From the trailhead, we will head north on the Kakiat Trail (white blaze), then turn right onto Torne Valley Road and follow it to Pine Meadow Lake, where we will stop for lunch. Afterward, we will retrace our steps along Torne Valley Road and return to the parking lot via the Kakiat Trail. This is a strenuous hike. Severe inclement weather will cancel the hike. Participants should bring lunch and snacks, plenty of water or warm drinks, proper outerwear, layers, sturdy boots, gaiters, and hiking poles.
