Wilmar Taal: Pseudo-history with the Round House Group

Details
This night we will dive into a fantastic example of Dutch skeptic research by Wilmar Taal. The Round House Group published a book in 2012 proposing a history of prostitution, occult rituals and treason concerning the Round House, a villa south of Nunspeet, once owned by Frank van Vloten, the son of philosopher/writer Johannes van Vloten. Mostly the Group reconstructed this history from oral sources, but the scarcely used archival documents show that their interpretations are far from being right. This is best illustrated in their portrait of one of the key-witnesses of the Round House tale, J.H.W. Eldermans. We shall take a look at the claims of the Round House Group and compare this to the information found in various archives in The Netherlands and the personal archives of his granddaughter Ms. Jeannet Richel.
Wilmar Taal is a Dutch historian and author.
As usual we'll start at 20:00 in the presentation room of the Doffer, but of course feel free to walk in from 19:30 or so!
