What is this 'zero trust' we hear a lot about? In this session we will explore what this approach entails and how Microsoft applies this at scale within their own environments. We will go a bit back in time to look at how incidents have evolved, how IT has changed and how security could adapt to these circumstances by applying this new mindset. We will look at how security can use these insights to better align with the organisation's mission and to help the organisation perform better by being more resilient: better security = better business!

Jelle Niemantsverdriet currently works as National Security Officer for Microsoft the Netherlands, a role in which he aims to drive broad national cyber resilience and increase trust in technology. He is fascinated by the interaction of technology with people and society and tries to constantly introduce insights from other disciplines into cybersecurity. Based on over 15 years of experience in responding to cyber incidents he tries to help organisations to not only be better prepared for incidents but also to introduce more usable and effective security measures. ​
