MarkLogic Meetup: Making Geo successful with a multi-model approach
We’re back with a new MarkLogic Benelux Meetup. This time we dive into the world of geospatial and how to get successful using a multi-model approach. A crucial aspect when using data sets like BAG, BRT, Omgevingswet (DSO), KvK etc. is to answer the “where” question within your geospatial application in the context of any other operational data. Many organizations tried to move their mission critical applications into production solving the challenge based on “one model” but did not succeed. Why isn’t this working?
We hope this Meetup inspires you with the following presentations:
[1] Rob van Dort – Mapplica – EntityGrid; the next step in data management [presentation in Dutch]
Rob shares his view on the importance of ‘history in data’, bi-temporal and his lessons learned during the many data management projects he managed for several customers like Movares. Geospatial data are crucial part of his “Time-varying networks”.
[2] Bob Moget - KOOP - Geo in the digital publication chain [presentation in Dutch]
Bob, who works as a Technical Architect at Kennis- en exploitatiecentrum Officiële Overheidspublicaties (KOOP, part of Ministerie van Binnenlandse Zaken en Koninkrijksrelaties.), will tell about the role of geo in the current services KOOP provides like the Attenderingsservice and Geozet, followed by an overview of the next steps to further professionalize these services. Currently KOOP publications are tagged with a point location (x,y coordinate pair). Future wish is to extend to multiple spatial objects including lines and polygons, for example for effectgebieden. The presentation features a demo of a recent Proof of Concept where KOOP used the Web Feature Service (WFS) Geoserver connector on top of their MarkLogic data platform.
[3] James Kerr – MarkLogic – How to get most out of combining Earthcube, Esri and MarkLogic [presentation in English]
James tells you all about the technical partnerships of Earthcube, Esri and MarkLogic by showing a short demonstration of all these platforms in action.
Besides the presentations there will be time for open questions and to look at the demos. Stay tuned for final agenda.
See you there!
