All Things AI in Australia: Monthly Meetup

Come along to the NLP & AI Wizards of Oz monthly meetup at ANU! This event is all about connecting with others interested in what's happening in AI across Australia. Whether you're into AI for computer vision (CV), LLM, finance, drones or just want to meet cool people doing interesting AI work, this meetup is for you.

This group is for fun and open to all levels! Whether you’re just starting out in AI or already knee-deep in projects, everyone is welcome. If you’d like to dive deeper into the technical side of things, keep an eye out for our more in-depth meetups held throughout the year. Those are perfect for exploring the nitty-gritty details of AI and its applications

What’s the Plan?

• Socializing and Networking: Chat with others passionate about AI in Australia.
• Quick Optional 5-Minute Round: Share what you're working on or what excites you about AI.
• Guest Speakers (sometimes): Short, laid-back talks from experts in AI fields.
• Pizza and Drinks: Because every great meetup needs food!

Joining Online or Starting Your Own Meetup?
We’ll have a Zoom session from 6 PM to 6:30 PM AEDT for anyone who wants to check in remotely, say hi, or give a quick talk. If you’d like to host a similar meetup at your university, business, or local area at the same time, join the Zoom session to introduce yourself, and we’ll add your location to the growing list of "NLP & AI Wizards of Oz" meetups!

When & Where:
We meet on the first (non-holiday) Monday of every month, 6 PM to 8 PM, at ANU School of Computing, 108 North Rd, Acton.
