Above the Fold is a brand new Creative Conference coming to the The Mick Lally Theatre (https://m.facebook.com/TheMickLallyTheatre/) in Druid Lane on May 21st 2016.

Above the Fold by Day will present 9 exciting artists, designers and creative entrepreneurs for a one-day symposium of inspirational talks under one roof.

Above the Fold by Night will grant ticket holders the opportunity to network and socialise at our delegates party in the Glasshouse at Electric Garden & Theatre (https://m.facebook.com/ElectricGalway/) from 9pm sharp.

Tickets start from €15 (+booking fee) which includes full access to the conference and after-party.

Brian Kenny | Lightscape Ireland (https://m.facebook.com/Lightscape-Ireland-204204172954215/)
Brian Kenny is a Video Artist and Projection Mapping specialist focusing on the transformation of environments through the manipulation of lighting and video technology.
His work spans all formats of presentation from contemporary galleries to large-scale outdoor productions.

Aoibheann McNamara | Ard Bia Nimmos (https://m.facebook.com/ardbia/) + The Tweed Project (https://m.facebook.com/thetweedproject/)
Creative entrepreneur Aoibheann McNamara is joining Above the Fold locally for a quick break from her bustling café Ard Bia. Aoibheann regularly travels seeking inspiration for her café and the House where she hosts talks and events. Aoibheann also co-runs The Tweed Project - a slow fashion label in collaboration with her partner Triona Lillis.

Joe Caslin is a street artist, illustrator and art teacher. He has worked as a secondary school art teacher for the past seven years. Rather than leaving current societal needs to government the aim of his current project entitled, ‘Our Nation’s Sons’ aims to spread a solution by persuading entire communities to address the very real problem of young male apathy and mental wellbeing. Over the past eighteen months he has initiated a pioneering new way of focusing Ireland’s urgent need for action to support this group.

Finbar247 is one of Ireland’s most vibrant visual artists to use outdoor spaces as a showcase for the arts and personal expression. His most recent works include a collection of large outdoor paintings around Galway city for Cúirt International Festical of Literature and an exciting installation at the Galway Arts Centre which was open to the general public in May 2015, called 'Love vs Fear'.

Matthew Thompson
Matthew will be taking to the Above the Fold stage to discuss his work as a fine-art, editorial + commercial photographer.
Matthew built from a foundation in graphic design to focus on a career in photography which led to interesting collaborations for Monocle Magazine, Dublin Theatre Festival and his latest project with activist and artist Maria Hinds.

Daniel Ulrichs | Coffeewerk + Press (https://m.facebook.com/coffeewerkandpress/)
Daniel Ulrichs is the brains behind Coffeewerk + Press. Daniel created the space to showcase the overlap between Irish and international design and art, while exploring the world of speciality coffee. The small business is housed in a beautiful four hundred year old building on the West coast of Ireland - seeking to create a dialogue between coffee, design and the local Galway community.

Dani Gill | Cuirt International Festival of Literature (https://m.facebook.com/Cuirt-International-Festival-of-Literature-105873532780811/)
Dani Gill has won three major European Project Awards for Cúirt and serves as a member of the advisory panel for Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture (https://m.facebook.com/galway2020/). We are excited to hear what exciting projects lie in the pipelines for Dani, including her collection of poetry which is due to be published in 2017.
