What we're about

The Northern New England Drone User Group (NNEDUG) is an organization for amateur and professional drone users that seeks to promote the responsible use of drones for community service, artistic, entrepreneurial, and recreational purposes. All experience levels are welcome.

We get together as a community to share tips, experiences, and of course to do some flying. Learn how to build and use drones in a safe and respectful manner. We regularly hold events to educate the public about the positive role drones can play in our society. Most importantly, we think that drones are a lot of fun!

NNEDUG is a member of the Drone User Group Network (http://droneusergroup.net/), an association of community organizations that promote the use of civilian drone technology for the benefit of humanity.

About RSVPs:

When you RSVP "Yes" to an event please follow through with your commitment to attend. If you can't make it, please change your RSVP to "No" at least 48 hours prior to the event. "No Shows" hurt the trustworthiness of the group and can disrupt our plans. If it's a limited attendance event, it could also prevent other Members that can attend from RSVPing "Yes" or not correctly move members on the waitlist to attending! We understand if emergencies and last minute situations happen, but please be diligent of your RSVP status. Thank you!

Generator Tiny Whoop Practice! (FREE!)

This meetup is offered on the FORTH Tuesday of every month at 6:00pm! Can't make it for 6:00PM? Feel free to come late! The Generator LED gates will be on and you’re welcome to practice with them or just freestyle fly within the great hall. You’re also welcome to bring your own race gates but please do not start setup before 6:00pm. Everyone is welcome to fly Tiny Whoops (1s or 2s Nanos/Micro Drones) anytime between 6pm and 8:45pm but you MUST fully clean up after yourself (restoring everything to the way it was when you arrived) and be out the door by 9PM sharp. Any drones seen after then will be impounded and smashed with sledgehammer at your expense. ;) This night is just for practice, testing, or freestyle flying so there won’t be any official or organized races, but you’re welcome to organize races or other challenges with others on your own.

Build, Config, Swap, and RACE! (FREE!)

Come to get help, ask questions, or just socialize. Everyone is welcome; even if you don’t have anything yet or are just thinking about buying or building a drone. Please feel free to bring your UAS/UAV/Drones/Wings and any parts to trade, sell, get help building/configuring, or just to show off. We’ll have some basic tools. e.g. drills, dremel, and a solder stations on hand. You're also welcome to bring your own or any specialty tools or parts you might need. This meetup is offered on the FIRST Tuesday of every month at 6:30pm! Can't make it for 6:30PM? Feel free to come late! Races start at 7pm. If you’re not interested in racing, we’ll continue conversations in Learning Lab. We can’t fly outside at this location or fly anything larger than a Nano/Micro inside but there is plenty of space/seating and lots of help available for you to build/configure your drones and race. ALL props MUST be removed from drones larger than a Nano and only Tiny Whoops (1s and 2s Nanos/Micro Drones) are permitted to fly/race within Generator. Plenty of help is available to new pilots—this is a great informal event for anyone who is interested in getting started with racing! Vermont Drone, located inside Generator and open during this meetup, has everything you might need in stock and ready for purchase! We also regularly offer Workshops if you’d like structured instruction. Please see NNEDUG’s upcoming meetups for dates, info, and cost. ------------- Racing Info: Indoor racing is open to "Tiny Whoop"-style micro drones. If you would like to race, please register with our chapter on MultiGP and sign up for this event. You must be registered, and arrive by 6:30, to race. Racers will be assigned a frequency upon arrival and must change to it before 7:00. https://www.multigp.com/chapters/view/?chapter=Multirotor-Vermont---

FPV Racing

Needs a location

Join us for outdoor FPV drone racing! We will be competitively racing 5" quadcopters in two classes: an open class with few limits on performance, and a spec class that equalizes equipment so pilots compete on skill. Spectators are welcome. Details and registration for racers is at MultiGP: https://www.multigp.com/chapters/view/?chapter=Multirotor-Vermont--- Flights during this event are restricted to the races unless cleared with event organizers.
