Picket Post Loop Hike

An easy hike on a 9 mile loop around Picket Post Mtn.
The trail traverses a a rare (for AZ) riparian area and then cuts over on a FS road to the AZT Passage 17 and descends back to the trailhead through Alamo Canyon.

The area in the first couple miles of this hike was devastated by the Telegraph Fire in 2021 and is now overgrown with hay (Brome) and catclaw, but the trail (as of a few weeks ago) is clear.

Meet at Picket Post TH off the 60 a few miles W of Superior.
