Corral Gardens Paddle and Snorkel

Details

Let's take a break from getting dirty and let's get wet instead. If you enjoy paddling and if you enjoy snorkeling, then here is the combo that you've been waiting for. We'll paddle from Papalaua Wayside Park to the Coral Gardens where we will explore one the most beautiful reefs in the area. This beautiful coral garden is a snorkel tour 'go-to spot' for a reason.
We will spend as much time as we like snorkeling and paddling (~2hours) before heading back to the Papalaua Park (long before the winds/currents pick up).
I will be bringing an anchor, so bring a strap so we can tie our boards/kayaks together.

*****Please be an experienced paddler, swimmer, and snorkeler if you join this adventure. While the Corral gardens are ~3/4 mile paddle (each way), we may paddle more just for the fun and exercise. Plus, there may be some wind or current.

What to Bring
Paddle board or kayak (duh!), or If you are so inclined, a boogie board...and good fins. And note that an experienced ocean swimmer with good fins could swim this. ;-)

Don't forget to bring water, optional snack, and mandatory aloha spirit!

*If you want to join and don't have access to a kayak or board, you can consider renting one. Surf shops will be the only rental places open early enough for same day rentals and will charge $30-$50 a day for a paddle board.
Boss Frogs at Dolphin Plaza in Kihei has excellent hourly prices but does not open until 8:00 a.m. (I suggest calling ahead).
**If anyone joining has an extra board to loan, post up in the comments.
Also, two to a board also works.

Where to Park
Pull into Papalaua Wayside Park beach, just post the 11.5 mile marker. (if you get to the road for the gun range you went too far) at 8:30ish. We will unload, head to the water, and begin a convoy ~8:40ish.

The shade here will make this a good spot to hang out afterwards if people want to stick around and enjoy some snacks and drinks afterwards. 🤙🏼

To limit our vehicle numbers, consider carpooling (though I understand it's not as easy when carrying boards).
