Aloha! Join us as we venture out on what is arguably one of the most beautiful spots on Maui, The Bamboo Forest Waterfall Hike (local name: Na'ili'ili-Haele). If you are willing to trapse though a lovely maze of bamboo, venture across some rocks, trek across a stream (might be a bit slippery but won't be deep..., hands can be used), Then you can make it to the beautiful 2nd Waterfall.
If you are willing to use a ladder and ropes to scale up the side of a waterfall, and then swim up-stream, you can make it to the fourth and final beautiful waterfall.
Note that the goal is for the group is to enjoy the beauty, nature, and company. for those not wanting to go to the fourth waterfall, simply relax and chill at the second waterfall.
Note that to make it to the 4th waterfall requires a short swim. and on the return, a jump of about 10 ft into the deep water.
Again, note that RSVPs are limited, so please update your RSVP if you cannot make it. Thank you.
Where to Meet
We want to get an early start to secure parking. Let's meet at the Kahului Safeway off the Hana Hwy (gas station side) at 7:45 a.m. for carpooling (the fewer vehicles we bring the better). We will leave NLT 8:00 with a goal of arriving at the Bamboo Forest Trailhead by 8:45ish. if you need to be picked up at the Haiku community Center let me know and we can make that happen. and if you're running late, you can always meet us out there. Together we will trek, enjoy the falls, snacks, swim, rope swing...meditate... looking forward to it!
