The Bamboo Forest
Details
Join us as we venture out on what is arguably one of the most beautiful spots on Maui, The Bamboo Forest Waterfall Hike (local name: Na'ili'ili-Haele). If you are willing to trapse though a maze of bamboo, engage in rock hopping, trek through wet slippery river rocks, use a ladder and ropes to scale up the side of a waterfall, and then swimming up-stream to make it to the fourth and final waterfall, then this event is for you.
Note that the goal is for the group to make it to the 4th fall. Even if you have never been, if you have an adventurous spirit, some athletic ability, are not afraid of heights, trust your grip, and can swim, then you can make it.
Of course, you have the option of hanging out at the beautiful 2nd waterfall.
Note that RSVPs are limited, so please update your RSVP if you cannot make it. Thank you.
Where to Meet
We want to get an early start to secure parking. Let's meet at the Safeway off of Ho'okele before 8 a.m. (the fewer vehicles we bring the better). If we leave by 8, we can also make a quick stop at Paia Public Parking and Haiku Community Center if necessary (and if there is room). with a goal of arriving at the Bamboo Forest Trailhead by 9:00ish. Together we will trek to, and enjoy each fall, with a goal of ending up at the fourth and final waterfall. We can enjoy snacks, a swim, meditation, and even jumping off the rocks into the refreshing pool below.
