Getting Started with AgentCore and Strands SDK

AI Agents are all the rage. In the fullness of time, at Amazon we believe there will be billions of AI agents worldwide augmenting humans or acting autonomously! To support this vision, AWS announced a new approach to building and deploying AI agents called Amazon Bedrock AgentCore. AgentCore along with a new agentic SDK called Strands, makes coding agents easier than ever. In this session, we will cover core components of AgentCore, followed by a walk-thru of a publicly available AWS AgentCore workshop that you can use to learn how to build agents on your own with hands-on labs and numerous examples.

Speaker Bio:

Jason Westra is a Sr. Startups SA with AWS. He has been helping startups scale their businesses on AWS for over five years. In the past two years, Jason has helped over fifty startups build and deploy their first GenAI solutions, most recently with AI agents on Bedrock AgentCore.
